If a customer's booking was auto-confirmed, they will be given the option to edit their booking through a link in the confirmation or reminder email they receive and will be able to change the time of their booking to another time slot (that matches the auto-confirm rules) if there is one available. The customer will see the below screen after clicking into the link:
You can restrict which bookings can be changed in this way, dependant on group size by going to Settings:
Venues > click on the Venue name
Booking Types > select the relevant Booking Type
Scroll to the bottom of the booking type settings to find ‘Customer Booking Changes’
Enter the Max group size for customer changes - for example, 8
Make sure to SAVE the page
USEFUL - another way to control what can/can't be amended by the customer is the Customer Payments rules.
If based on the booking types rules, a guest that didn't need to pay a deposit to secure their booking i.e. a group of 1-4, now wants to change to a group of 6 that would require a deposit (based on the customer payment rules), Collins won't allow the change and will inform them to contact the venue to change their booking.
