Testing your booking type rules

If you’re not sure if you’ve set your booking type up correctly, if it’s not working as intended on your widget, the best way to find out why is by using the ‘Test booking rules’ page within the Help Section. This will tell you all of the processes that Collins goes through when confirming and placing an auto-confirmed booking or accepting an enquiry.


To find this, go to Help > Test Booking Rules.


Once on the Test Booking Rules page, you can then enter your parameters to test your rules. This is similar to making a booking through your widget, just fill out the venue, type, guests, date, time and until.


Once you’ve filled this out, click ‘Can I Book?’. Collins will then check the system to let you know if you can book or not.


If the booking can be auto-confirmed, it will give you a breakdown of which table the booking has been placed into and why.

If the booking can only be accepted as an enquiry, again it will let you know whether this is because no auto-confirm rules were found, or if there is no area for the booking to be auto-confirmed into.


If the booking will not be accepted, it will then explain the reasons behind this.
